Attorney Rusten C. Hurd

Rusten C. Hurd is a founding partner at the law firm of Colombo, Hurd and Brandt, PL. In over eleven years of legal practice, Mr. Hurd has garnered experience with a wide variety of immigration matters including family petitions, deportation litigation, investor visas, as well as naturalization and citizenship matters. Mr. Hurd devotes a substantial portion of his time to assist clients successfully obtain fiancé and marriage visas. As the husband of an immigrant, Mr. Hurd is fully cognizant of the importance of this process to his clients. Mr. Hurd also has successfully appeared before immigration judges throughout the United States concerning a variety of removal issues.


Mr. Hurd has been awarded an AV rating by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. An AV rating is the highest such rating available to any single lawyer for skill and integrity and the rating is reserved for attorneys designated as outstanding in their field.


Mr. Hurd also devotes a substantial portion of his practice to performing appellate work before appellate courts throughout the state of Florida as well as the Board of Immigration Appeals. Mr. Hurd has had noteable appellate success both with the Board of Immigration Appeals and with Florida Appellate Courts. In addition to his law practice, Mr. Hurd has served as Guardian ad Litem for troubled children and was recognized by the Legal Aid Society of Orange County for his service and contributions.


In addition to his experience as an immigration lawyer, Mr. Hurd also has extensive experience representing employers, carriers and injured workers in workers' compensation claims. Mr. Hurd has had notable success at both the trial and appellate levels. He is dedicated to providing thorough, effective and responsive legal representation to his clients throughout Florida. Mr. Hurd is certified by the State of Florida as an instructor in the field of workers compensation and has held seminars encompassing workers' compensation topics to claims professionals, employers, risk managers and attorneys.

Suzanne Elizabeth Vazquez has been practicing U.S. Immigration law exclusively since 1999. Suzanne has been practicing in Orlando since 2003 and prior to that she practiced Immigration law in Tampa and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Suzanne is board certified by the Florida Bar in the area of Immigration and Nationality Law. Suzanne also served on the Board Certification Committee for the Florida Bar from 2005 to 2008. Currently, Suzanne holds the position of Executive Vice Chair for the Central Florida Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).

 

Suzanne has successfully represented many individuals, U.S. employers, foreign national investors, families, and foreign -based businesses with complex immigration cases. Suzanne also has had a number of victories in the Immigration and Federal courts. Suzanne handles cases representing the full range of U.S. Immigration laws in front of all of the government agencies involved in the U.S. Immigration process.

 

Suzanne received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas-Austin, and her Juris Doctorate degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law, San Antonio, Texas. Suzanne was born in New York City and is the daughter of Cuban and British immigrants.
