Medical Malpractice 101:
Overview of Medical Liability Cases
October 11, 2012 • Columbia, SC
 |
Medical malpractice cases are among the most complex personal injury cases to litigate. This "Medical Malpractice 101" course will provide a 360 degree review of medical malpractice litigation from inception through trial. We will examine when to pursue certain cases and even more importantly when to reject a case.
We will discuss how to identify the proper parties and the appropriate standard of care. We will then focus on how to prepare a case pre-suit and pre-trial, focusing on avoiding common pitfalls. This course will examine finding quality expert witnesses and preparation before trial. We will also discuss cross-examining physician defendants and experts at deposition and trial.
Finally, we will review the anatomy of a medical malpractice trial from jury selection to summation.
